These classes are designed to work on control of the body to develop the correct technique for the future. Introduction to the Vaganova Method, high discipline and strong work out of the muscles is emphasized. Students achieve precision, technical proficiency, core, stability, and fluent use of the dance movements vocabulary.

Based on the Russian Character Dance Syllabus of the Vaganova Method, students in both levels of character dance will study barre and center work that combines classical ballet technique with national dances from eastern and western Europe. Character Dance explores many different cultures and their traditional dances. This class will cover Polish Mazurka, Spanish Flamenco, Hungarian Gypsy, Russian Folk and Classic Flamenco. Court Dance teaches students some of the oldest traditional English, Russian, Spanish and French Court and Peasant dances.
